Communicating for Engagement
“The ability to listen is as important as the ability to speak.”
Sheryl Sandberg
A collaborative and trusting environment is necessary in order to accelerate school improvement, and internal communication is a linchpin in this environment. Instructional Leadership Teams successfully engage the faculty, students and wider school community by practicing authentic communication, not merely disseminating a vision and policies, but also infusing collective input throughout the process of school improvement. School leadership is highly communicative with and supportive of teachers, establishing a responsive and inclusive leadership climate, resulting in a culture of collegiality and transparent decision-making and effective communication channels.
